Featured in Luxurist Magazine for World Vitiligo Day 2026

From Silence to Strength

This June, I was honoured to be featured in Luxurist Magazine, with the article published on World Vitiligo Day 2026. It felt like a really special moment to pause and reflect on how far I've come in my journey with vitiligo.

For many years, my skin was something I tried to hide. Sharing my story publicly still feels quite vulnerable at times, but I know that every conversation helps to raise awareness and challenge the assumptions people often make about visible difference.

What made this feature even more meaningful was that Luxurist Magazine celebrates the stories of the modern British South Asian community. Growing up, I rarely saw people who looked like me represented in the media, let alone someone openly talking about living with vitiligo. Being part of a publication that values diverse voices and experiences felt incredibly affirming.

I hope that anyone reading the interview who is navigating their own journey with vitiligo—or any visible difference—feels a little less alone. If sharing my experiences encourages even one person to embrace who they are with a little more confidence, then it's worth every moment of vulnerability.

Thank you to the team at Luxurist Magazine for creating the space for such an open and honest conversation, and for choosing to publish it on a day that means so much to the vitiligo community.
